Ross Contractors is based at Golden Grove in South Australia. It is a traditional family owned and operated business started by Eric and Maureen Ross in 1974 and is now run by their son Darren and daughter Sharyn. There are nine trucks in the fleet, all but one being Kenworth. The fleet now including two Road Trains, and a Kenworth T909 PBS Truck & 5 Axle Dog.

The growth from a one truck operation in 1974 has been slow and steady, with diversification the key to their business. That diversification means that Ross Contractors vehicles can regularly be found in the eastern states of Victoria and New South Wales while the road train work sees them up in outback South Australia.

Ross has a great team of drivers, with many working for Ross from between 5-10 years. They carry an enormous responsibility, not only getting the truck from A to B safely; they are also required to maintain a high level of paperwork, reporting and customer service. Plus our drivers all have a great amount of mechanical knowledge which is important when the vehicles are thousands of kilometres from their home base. A testament to the management and staff alike, Ross’ longest serving driver is Barry Klemm, having been with Ross’ for over 22 years.

To compliment their haulage operations, Ross’ have a sand and clay mine a short distance from their depot.  Ross’ also source a variety of quality products from a number of trusted suppliers for both local and interstate markets.
